1. Who are the Christadelphians?

The name 'Christadelphian' was chosen because it describes the relationship between Jesus and his disciples.

选用“基督弟兄会”这个名称是因为它描绘了耶稣与信徒之间的关系。

The New Testament was written in Greek. 'Christadelphian' is made up of two Greek words， adelphos and Christos， and means 'Brethren in Christ'. This phrase is found in the Bible， in Colossians 1：2.

新约圣经用希腊语撰写。“基督弟兄会”由两个希腊语“adelphos” 和“Christos” 组成，意思是“在基督里的弟兄”。这个短语见于圣经歌罗西书1：2。

John Thomas， a 19th century preacher， decided on the name 'Christadelphian'. He travelled widely in both the USA and Britain， preaching the gospel. His clear understanding and explanation of the Bible message led to others being con­vinced that he preached the truth. They were baptized into Christ and became members of the Christadelphian com­munity， meeting together in worship. At first， they were to be found mainly in the USA and Britain， but there are now Christadelphian communities on every continent. It has truly become a world­wide fellowship.

约翰多马，是十九世纪的一位传教士，他决定使用“基督弟兄会”这个名称。他在美国和英国到处旅行，传播福音。他明确地理解和解释了圣经信息，使其他的人都相信他传播的真理。他们都洗入基督，成了基督弟兄会的会员，拜神时相聚一起。起初，主要在美国和英国，但现在基督弟兄会在各大洲都有。现在真的已成了一个世界的团体。

The really distinctive feature of the Christadelphians is that they trust in the Bible as their only source of beliefs and authority. All its words， in both the Old and the New Testaments， are inspired by God and are given to men and women for their salvation. As a result of this emphasis， Christadelphian beliefs are identical to those taught by Jesus and the apostles in the first century.

基督弟兄会真正与众不同的特点是他们相信圣经是惟一的信仰和权柄来源。圣经里所有的话，包括旧约圣经和新约圣经都是受神感动，出于拯救赐予男人和女人的道。由于强调了这一点，基督弟兄会的信仰和耶稣及其使徒们在第一世纪传教的信仰是相同的。

Christadelphians read the Bible every day. Using a plan， they read the Old Testament once， and the New Testament twice， every year. One of the many benefits of this is that every day they can personally check their beliefs against the authority of Scripture. This plan is available， free， on request.

Christadelphians ask you to compare their beliefs with Bible teaching. You will benefit most if you take the time to look up and read the Bible passages given. Because Jesus was "The Truth"， his own words are quoted below，  as often  as

space permits.

基督弟兄会请你比较一下他们的信仰和圣经的教训。如果你化时间查看、阅读指定的圣经章节，定能获得巨大收益。因为耶稣是“真理”，他下面的话常常被引用。

•         God is the eternal Creator of the uni­verse. He created life on earth， and made man in His own image (Genesis 1：1，27；Acts 17：24-28).

•         神是宇宙永恒的造物主。他创造了地球上的生命，并按他自己的模样创造了人 (创世记1：1，27；使徒行传 17：24-28)。

•         The Bible is the wholly inspired Word of God (2 Peter 1：20，21； 2 Timothy 3：14-17).

•         圣经完全是受神感动的道 (彼得后书1：20，21； 提摩太后书3：14-17)。

•         Angels are immortal beings who carry out God's will (Hebrews 1：13，14).

•         天使是不腐不朽的人，他们执行神的旨意(希伯来书1：13，14)。

•         God's plan is to fill the whole earth with His glory (Numbers 14：21； Habakkuk2：14).

•         神计划让他的荣耀充满整个地球(民数记14：21； 哈巴谷书2：14)。

•         Man (Adam) was given a choice by God. He could obey God， and live， or dis­obey Him and die. Adam sinned by disobey­ ing  God.   He  was  sentenced  to  death(Genesis 3：17-19).

•         神已经给了人(亚当)一个机会。人可以顺从神得生，也可以违抗神得死。亚当因为违抗神而犯罪。他被判死亡(创世记3：17-19)。

•         We  are all  descended  from Adam.Because he sinned， and died， all men and women have been born mortal. However， we "all have sinned"， and we deserve to die on our own account (Romans 3：23； 5：12； 6：23).

•         我们大家都由祖先亚当而来。因为他犯罪、死亡，所有男男女女一生下来就是必死的。但是，我们“大家都犯罪了”，我们因为自己的原因理应死亡 (罗马书3：23； 5：12； 6：23)。

•         Like Adam， we are all responsible for our own actions. If we were not， a fair-minded  God  could   not  call  our wrong actions 'sin'. We cannot blame a super­natural devil. "Each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed " (James 1：14-16). Jesus said， "Out of the heart proceed evil thoughts， murders， fornications ..." (Matthew 15：19).

和亚当一样，我们大家都要为自己的行为负责。如果我们不负责任，公平的神不会把我们的误行为这“罪”。我们不能怪超自然的恶魔。“但各人被试探，乃是被自己的私欲牵引诱惑的” (雅各书1：14-16)。耶稣说，“因为从心里发出来的，有恶念、凶杀、奸淫…”(马太福音15：19)。

•         God was， and still  is， the  Father of Jesus Christ. God used His Holy Spirit so that Mary "conceived in her womb". Jesus was， therefore， both Son of God， and Son of man (Luke 1：30-35).

•         神过去是，现在仍然是耶稣基督的父。神利用圣灵使马丽亚“怀孕”。因此，耶稣既是神的儿子又是人的儿子(路加福音1：30-35)。

•         Jesus is not equal with God. He said， "My Father is greater than I" (John 14：28)， and    "I am ascending to my Father and your Father， and to my God and your God" (John 20：17).

•         耶稣不能等同于神。他说，“父是比我大的”(约翰福音14：28)，“我要升上去见我的父，也是你们的父，见我的神，也是你们的神” (约翰福音 20：17)。

•        The Holy Spirit is God's power， to use as He chooses (Genesis 1：2； Isaiah 61：1). It is not a separate person.

•        圣灵是神的能力，供他选择使用 (创世记1：2；以赛亚书61：1)。它不是一个独立的人。

•        Jesus could have sinned， but he did not. He "put away sin by the sacrifice of himself ... so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eager­ ly wait for him， he will appear a second time， apart from sin， for salvation" (Hebrews 9：26-28).

•        耶稣本该犯罪，但他没有犯罪。他“把自己献为祭，好除掉罪…基督既然一次被献，担当了多人的罪，将来要向那等候他的人第二次显现，并与罪无关，乃是为拯救他们”(希伯来书9：26-28)。

•        Because of his perfect obedience to the will of God， Jesus was raised from the dead. He was given everlasting  life. He said， "Ought not the Christ to have suffered these things and to enter into his glory?" (Luke 24：26).

•        因为他完全顺从神的旨意，耶稣从死亡中复活。他被赐予了永生。他说，“基督这样受害，又进入他的荣耀，岂不是应当的吗”(路加福音24：26) ？

•        Jesus， after his resurrection， still had a body. He said to Thomas， one of the 12 apostles， "Reach your hand here， and put it into my side" (John 20：27).

•        耶稣在复活后仍有身体。他对十二使徒的多马说，“伸出你的手来，探入我的肋旁” (约翰福音20：27)。

•        If we are found faithful， and granted immortality， Jesus will "transform our lowly body that it may be conformed to his glori­ous body" (Philippians 3：21).

•        如果我们信实可靠，被赐予不腐不朽，耶稣会“将我们这卑贱的身体改变形状，和他自己荣耀的身体相似”(腓力比书3：21)。

•        After his resurrection， Jesus ascended to heaven (Acts 1：11). He now acts as our Lord and mediator (1 Timothy 2：5).

•        复活后耶稣升天(使徒行传1：11)。他现在做我们的主和中保(提摩太前书2：5)。

•        Jesus  was  victorious  over  sin  and death. By God's grace， all who believe and faithfully follow him will receive the blessing of everlasting life (John 3：16； 1 Corinthians 15：22； 1 Peter 5：4).

耶稣战胜了罪孽和死亡。出于神的恩典，所有相信和追随他的人都能获得永生的赐福(约翰福音3：16；歌林多前书15：22； 彼得前书5：4)。

•        The blessing of everlasting life will be given at the judgement. This will take place after Jesus returns and raises the responsi­ble dead. Jesus said， "All who are in the graves will hear his voice， and come forth— those who have done good， to the resurrec­tion of life" (John 5：28，29).

•        永生的福气将在审判时被赐予。这件事情会发生在耶稣返回地球，复活那些本该承担责任的死者的时候。耶稣说，“凡在坟墓里的，都要听见他的声音，就出来：行善的，复活得生”(约翰福音5：28，29)。

•        Jesus tells us many times that he will return to the earth. "The Son of man will come in the glory of his Father， with his angels， and then he will reward each according to his works" (Matthew 16：27). Note the order of events： (a) Jesus returns； (b) he raises the dead； (c) the judgement takes place； and (d) he gives everlasting life to his faithful followers.

•        耶稣多次告诉我们他会返回到地球上来。“人子要在他父的荣耀里同着众使者降临；那时候，他要照各人的行为报应各人”(马太福音16：27)。请注意事情的次序：(a) 耶稣复活；(b) 他复活死者；(c) 进行审判；(d) 他把永生赐予信实的信徒。

•         When Jesus comes， he will be "Lord of lords and King of kings" (Revelation 17：14). Kings will bow before him (Psalm 72：11). The Bible calls this time 'The Kingdom of God'. The faithful believers， made immortal saints， will help Jesus. He promised that his twelve apostles would "sit on twelve thrones， judging the twelve tribes of Israel" (Matthew 19：28).

•         当耶稣回来时，他将是“万主之主、万王之王”(启示录17：14)。万王要拜倒在他面前(诗篇72：11)。圣经称这时为“神的国”。信实的信徒成为了不腐不朽的圣徒，他们会帮助耶稣。耶稣应许说十二使徒要“坐在他荣耀的宝座上，你们也要坐在十二个宝座上，审判以色列十二个支派”(马太福音19：28)。

•         Men and women  must acknowledge that they are sinners. They must believe the Gospel， repent and be baptized. Jesus said， "He who believes and is baptized will be saved" (Mark 16：16).

•         男人和女人必须承认他们是罪人。他们必须相信福音，悔改和受洗。耶稣说，“信而受洗的，必然得救”(马可福音16：16)。

•         Jesus told his disciples， "If you love me， keep my commandments" (John 14：15). We must follow his example of obedience to God and practical service， and remember him by breaking bread and drinking wine regularly，  "till   he  comes"  (1   Corinthians ).

•         耶稣告诉信徒，“你们若爱我，就必遵守我的命令” (约翰福音14：15)。我们必须以他为榜样，顺从神，在实际工作中侍奉他，通过经常的掰饼和饮酒记念他，“直至他回来”(哥林多前书)。
